What are the worst 5 films of all time and why?

I was inspired to write this blog by 2 (very different) trips around Europe. The first, with a good friend of mine, passed with the most pointless conversations about all manner of subjects, many of them listed on this blog now.

The second trip was with a new girlfriend along a similar route. About 30 minutes into our journey and conscious of the thousands of miles ahead of us travelling together, I enquired "So, what's your top 5 films of all time?" She replied "Oh I don't like conversations like that."

I then realised that there was a point after all to the pointless conversations I had had 2 years previously, if nothing more than to enjoy endless hours of being stuck with someone travelling.

1. Boxing Helena - because it's about a girl in a box with no arms or legs
2. Dead Poet's Society - because everyone liked it to try and be profound
3. Dirty Dancing - because it's crap
4. Return to Salem's Lot - It made me want to become a film-maker
5. Cruel Intentions - Utter pretentious nonsense
